Do you buy entire collections or individual cards?+
Both. We can purchase an entire collection, a smaller group of cards, or a single high-value card. For larger collections, we will help identify the most valuable items and evaluate the collection as a whole. To expedite the appraisal process, we welcome when clients bring us Collectr lists already completed accurately.
How do I get an offer for my collection?+
Start by submitting photos and basic information through our website. Helpful details include the sports or trading card category, approximate number of cards, grading companies, notable players or characters, and your estimated value. We will review the information and contact you with the next steps.
Do I need to know what my cards are worth before contacting you?+
No. Many sellers are unsure what they have or how much it is worth. We can help review the collection, identify the most important cards, and determine whether it is a good fit for us to purchase.
How do you determine your offer?+
Offers are based on recent comparable sales, card condition, grading, rarity, market demand, collection size, and the time and costs involved in sorting and reselling the cards. We aim to make competitive offers while providing a simple and convenient selling experience.
Will you travel to look at a large collection?+
For sufficiently large or valuable collections, in-person evaluations are available. Travel decisions are made based on the collection's estimated value, location, and the information provided during the initial review.
Can I ship my collection to you?+
Yes. After reviewing the collection, we can provide shipping instructions. Sellers should not ship cards until the collection has been discussed and shipping details have been confirmed.
How quickly will I get paid?+
Payment timing depends on the size of the collection and the payment method selected. Once a purchase price has been agreed upon and the cards have been received and verified, payment is typically initiated the same day.
What payment methods do you offer?+
Available payment options include bank wire, ACH, PayPal, Zelle, Wise, or cash in person. Payment options will be confirmed before the transaction is completed.
What happens if I do not accept your offer?+
There is no obligation to sell. You are welcome to decline the offer and keep your collection. Our goal is to provide a straightforward evaluation and a clear offer without unnecessary pressure.
Consignment FAQs
What does it mean to consign my cards?+
Consignment allows you to retain ownership of your cards while we handle the auction process on your behalf. Your cards are submitted to Fanatics Collect, professionally photographed and listed for auction, and promoted as part of our featured collection. After the auctions are paid and settled, you receive your share of the proceeds.
Where will my consigned cards be sold?+
All consigned cards are sold through the Fanatics Weekly auction platform. Auctions generally begin on Thursday and run for approximately 10 days, ending on Sunday.
What are the benefits of consigning through GroguLovesCards?+
Your cards are listed under our featured Fanatics collection, which can help increase visibility among active collectors. Our established consignment relationship may also provide a better fee structure than many sellers would receive by submitting cards privately.
How much will I receive from my auctions?+
For cards that sell for more than $200, consignors receive 92% of the net proceeds, including the applicable buyer's premium. Cards selling for less than $200 are subject to a sliding payout scale based on Fanatics' fees for lower-value items.
What cards are eligible for consignment?+
We accept graded sports cards, Pokémon cards, and other collectible trading cards (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Lorcana, etc). Acceptance may depend on expected auction value, card condition, authenticity, grading company, and current market demand. Raw cards are also accepted and can be auctioned raw, or graded with PSA, CGC, or BGS and auctioned.
Is there a minimum value required to consign?+
There is not always a strict minimum for every submission, but cards should generally have enough expected auction value to justify the listing and processing costs. We may recommend grouping lower-value cards, selling them another way, or declining items that are not a good fit for Fanatics Weekly.
How do I submit my cards?+
Begin by sending us photos or a list of the cards you would like to consign. Once the submission is approved, we will provide packaging, shipping, and delivery instructions. Please do not send cards before receiving confirmation.
How long does the entire consignment process take?+
The timeline depends on when the cards are received, processed, and entered into an auction. After an auction ends, buyers generally have up to two weeks to pay. Your payout is sent after the buyer's payment has cleared and Fanatics has released the funds. A good rule of thumb is to plan on 30-days from the time you ship your cards to the time you receive your payout(s).
When will I receive my payment?+
Once the buyer has paid and the auction funds have cleared, Fanatics typically transfers the proceeds promptly. We then issue the consignor's payment depending on the agreed payment method.
What happens if the winning bidder does not pay?+
Non-payment is rare, but it does occasionally happen. If a buyer fails to complete payment, the transaction may be canceled or otherwise handled according to Fanatics' auction policies. In most cases, the item(s) that went unpaid would automatically be listed to run in the next available auction. No consignor payout can be issued until the item has been successfully paid for and the funds have cleared.
Are auction results guaranteed?+
No. Auctions involve risk, and final sale prices are never guaranteed. Some cards may significantly exceed expectations when multiple bidders compete, while others may sell for less than recent comparable sales or the consignor's estimated value. Trading card markets can be volatile, and auction results may be affected by market trends, player performance, timing, card population, condition, bidder demand, competing listings, and overall collector interest. By consigning a card for auction, the consignor acknowledges and accepts the possibility that the final result may be higher or lower than expected.
